The Best Stories Are the Ones That Actually Happen

this time you had no excuse so
you just did it
when you saw her
standing on the side of the road
pizza box in one arm
the other extended
to hitch a ride
you knew
you had to turn around
so you did:
pulled up to the light
rolled down the window
then asked her,
where’re ya headed?
she breathed a sigh of relief that
you could hear from
ten feet away
and then you drove her to her home
taking a right on 59’th and then
a left on Mary Jane & then
another left.

she thanked you profusely.
you smiled and waved
and then drove
home.

    • Me too! It was almost like an active response to that one I wrote months ago about NOT picking up the hitchhiker! Except this was a cute Arizona chick and that was some old ugly Ohio man… :-p

      • Haha, aww. Don’t be so harsh on yourself. 😛 Good to see you’re getting along with the AZ chicks, though. ;D
